Arroyo Vista uses the Second Step Curriculum across all grade levels to address Social Emotional Learning. 

Second Step is aligned with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) Core SEL Competencies: 

What makes Second Step Effective?

Students are engaged with a variety of activities, lively discussions and videos.  The Anti-Bullying Unit teaches students  the “3 R’s” → Recognize, Report, and Refuse bullying.

Students learn the important role bystanders play in preventing bullying and how we can work together to create an inclusive environment.
