Arroyo Vista Students and Families Work Together to Improve Campus Garden

Most people who have visited Arroyo Vista Elementary School are familiar with the lovely community garden on campus. Throughout the year, helpful volunteers and a gardener, with funding from the PTA, cultivate a garden that beautifies the campus and provides various types of produce that are shared with families and staff.

Due to the effects of the wildfires in January, the garden needed to be completely recreated. Thank you to Leslie Brill, who organized a soil donation, and to many Arroyo Vista students and parents who donated plants and seeds. As part of this year’s AV Gives Back, nearly 50 community members joined together to dig up the garden, replace the soil, and plant new vegetation. With this support, the cycle of growth continues, and the AV garden lives on.

Thank you to everyone who participated, especially the AV PTA, for their support.

Go, Wildcats!
