May is full of classroom activities, and the schedule certainly has not slowed down for South Pasadena Unified School District’s Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (K) teachers. This week, the teachers gathered at the District Office for professional development and planning for the next school year.

 

With the expansion of TK/K classes, teachers are learning how to adapt their classrooms, schedules, and curriculum using purposeful and guided play. These instructional strategies will help students build literacy, STEM, and social-emotional skills. This work will continue into the next school year with a focus on writing and assessments.
