What's happening this week?

Dear Parents & Students,

On May 2nd we begin two weeks of CAASPP state testing for grades 3-5 for English Language Arts and Math. 5th Grade will also take the CST for Science. Students will be taking the CAASPP test online in their classroom on a Chromebook.

The 3rd grade testing block is from 8:30-10:00am. 4th and 5th Grade will test from 10:30-12:15. These are the approximate times students will be testing. However, students may have as much time as they need.

In preparation for testing please consider the following:

All students should:

  • Get a good night’s sleep

  • Eat a healthy breakfast

  • Arrive to school on time

All parents should:

  • Encourage your child to do their best and take their time

  • Avoid scheduling any appointments during testing time

  • Drop off on time each morning

The teachers and students have been working hard all year! All of our students are ready for this!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Busick & Mrs. Roach

If you registered your child for the All City Track Meet on 4/29, please read the information below.

There are two optional practices scheduled on Monday, April 25 & Wednesday, April 27 from 5-7pm at the South Pasadena High School Stadium.  We highly recommend all participants competing in the individual events as well as the relay teams and the alternates come to one or both practices.  Everyone will practice in their individual field events.  The relay teams will also work on the baton hand off.  In addition, the relay teams will be practicing during PE class.

Please enter through the Meridian gate and head to the middle of the field. Volunteers will work with the runners but this is not a drop off practice. A parent or guardian must accompany the participants at the practice. Please bring water bottles & sunscreen.

The approximate practice schedule:

5:00 – 5:30 PM    Warm up, 50 yard dash, 100 m dash

5:30 – 6:00 PM    8 x 50 yard relay (K-2nd grade)
