Dear Parents and Students,
We have a busy week ahead of us! The tradition at AV to welcome our new students in grade with a welcome lunch continues this week. New 4th and 5th grade students get a special treat and the opportunity to meet school staff and other new wildcats on Tuesday. Thursday evening Mrs. Hylbom and Mrs. Davis-Martinez are leading a SENG parent support meeting for the parents of gifted children. SENG is dedicated to fostering environments in which gifted adults and children, in all their diversity, understand and accept themselves and are understood, valued, nurtured, and supported by their families, schools, workplaces and communities. Friday is a double session for our Kindergarten and TK students. Friday morning is October's Red & Blue assembly. Mrs. Roach will be talking about the new character trait of the month and making other announcements.
Have a FANTASTIC week!
~Mrs. Busick & Mrs. Roach
Picture Day has been added to our calendar. Picture day will be October 22nd.
Meet Our Long-Term Sub: Mrs. Clark
Mrs. Clark has joined Arroyo Vista as Mrs. Malach' s substitute while she is out on maternity leave.
Mrs. Clark is in her second year of teaching in California. She previously taught in West Virginia and New York. Her family moved to South Pasadena three years ago. Mrs. Clark shared with me that AV holds a special place in her heart because her youngest son Sam, was able to attend our school for fifth grade. She is just thrilled to become a member of our staff and has enjoyed getting to know your children over the last few weeks.
Mr. Speck:Technology Integration Coach
Greetings AV Families! Many of you have seen me around campus for the past two years as the Curriculum Specialist here at Arroyo Vista and at Monterey Hills. This year, I have taken on the role of Technology Integration Coach for all three Elementary Schools. In my new role, I am helping students and teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum. I am excited to visit classrooms and help students to grow as 21st Century learners. I am at Arroyo Vista every Thursday, so please stop by to say hello! Go Wildcats!
