GATE Parent Information Night Wednesday October 14th 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Come hear district 4th and 5th grade teachers talk about the 4th/5th grades' Academy Program, and hear Dr. Steve Seaford speak about meeting your GATE child's social and emotional needs. This event will take place at the District Office Boardroom at 1020 El Centro Street. All are welcome to attend.

Please click on the attached letter which was sent home the last week of school in backpack mail to determine the date and time you should come to AV with your three current proofs of residence. School begins Tuesday September 1st, 2009.
4th & 5th Grade GATE and Regular Education Programs 2009-2010 Discussion
On Tuesday, June 9th at 6:00 p.m. all parents are invited to a discussion regarding GATE and Regular Education programs being offered to the 4th and 5th grade next year at AV. Dr. Steve Seaford and Principal Speh will be hosting. (AV Auditorium)

Superintendents Jack O'Connell and Dr. Darline Robles visit AV!!
We enjoyed having Superintendents Jack O'Connell and Dr. Darline Robles visit Arroyo Vista last Wednesday, June 3, 2009. They held a press conference in our beautiful library to communicate to local and state stakeholders the importance of contacting your local and state legislators during this budget crisis. SPUSD's Superintendent, Dr. Brian Bristol, spoke on the impact the buget cuts have had on our district.

Congratulations Ms. Regina Athnos who was named SPUSD's Elementary Oneonta Teacher of the Year
Ms. Regina Athnos is one of AV's outstanding teachers. She has taught Kindergarten, 5th and 3rd grade. She is involved in the district's Critical Friends Groups, Differentiation training, and led professional development in Website Design and CFGs. She represents the teachers on the Homework Committee and Anti-Bullying Committee. She has a heart for kids and strives to bring her best to the classroom each day! Team AV is so proud of her!
