On March 24th, each grade will have a 30 minute time slot during which each student will walk/run around the designated course (approximately 1/10 of a mile) as many times as they can.

Why: Raise money for AV PTA supported programs such as: school wide assemblies, new technology, playground equipment, art happenings, and so much more! Recent Jog-a-thon donations helped fund our new courtyard speakers, the umbrella shade area, and the playground resurfacing.

The highly coveted Golden Shoe Trophy will be awarded to one class per grade with the highest per student average of: number of laps, number of pledges, most $ raised, and the most spirit. Special medals will be awarded to students for most $ raised, most pledges and most laps per grade.

ALL DONATIONS ARE DUE BY APRIL 14TH to be counted toward student/class totals.

I attended Arroyo Vista, SPMS, and SPHS and received my Bachelors degree in History from Long Beach State. I played division 1 water polo at LBSU for 4 years. After graduating I decided to go overseas to continue playing professionally. I played almost two years in Budapest, Hungary, a season in Brazil, and a season in Barcelona this past year. Since 2013, I have worked in between seasons as a classified substitute teacher for the district. I also coach water polo at Westridge and Rosebowl club. I love all sports and  I'm extremely happy to be instructing PE at Arroyo Vista.

Hello Arroyo Vista families! I am so excited to be a part of the AV team as the new Transitional Kindergarten teacher. I have been working at Arroyo Vista for the past couple of years as a substitute teacher, student teacher, and classroom observer, so you may have seen me around. I recently graduated from California State University Los Angeles with my Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. In addition to working at AV and going to school I spent the last five years working as the lead teacher at Gymboree Play & Music. As a Gymboree teacher I was able to work with many wonderful young children and I can't wait to continue to do so in Transitional Kindergarten. When I am not working I love going to the beach and cooking with my friends. I am looking forward to meeting you all and having a great school year!
